Dry Disconnect Couplings | First Delivery | RIMS Dry Disconnect Couplings Environmental regulations, quality assurance and safety have been the driving forces behind Arkema’s program to improve the technology used in bulk deliveries of Forane® products. Arkema Inc. will supply all customers with two female fittings, 2 and 1¼ inches, to be installed on the loading ports of their bulk storage tanks. These fittings will match those used in the delivery hoses. Use of these dry disconnect couplings enable the hoses to be disconnected from the storage tank without releasing any product to the air. There are many benefits to these fittings including reduced emissions and contamination, increased savings and enhanced safety. Top First Delivery As part of Arkema’s product stewardship, an Arkema Technical Service Engineer will accompany the first bulk delivery of product to a customer location to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly and that all information is correctly documented. Prior to the first delivery, the customer fills out a Pre-Delivery Instruction form. An Arkema Technical Service Engineer will review the form and determine if anything is needed (e.g. extra hoses, explosion proof electrical hook ups, etc.) The Engineer will confirm this information upon his visit. This will help service and expedite future deliveries. In order to be ready for bulk deliveries from Arkema Inc., it should be noted that our trucks use a 7.5 hp, 3 phase pump motor for its delivery trucks, which requires either 220V or 440V 3 phase power. It is recommended to use a Hubbell style receptacle located within 50 ft of where the truck will be located for the delivery. The receptacle box should be connected with an on/off switch so the power cord can be connected and disconnected to a de-energized power supply. Arkema recommends 30 amp time-delay fuses to protect the circuit from overloads. Top Remote Inventory Monitoring System (RIMS) Arkema Inc. has a program to monitor customer tank levels and schedule bulk deliveries to a particular tank at the customer site. This is done via an industrial grade, weatherproof system mounted directly at the customer’s tank. The battery operated monitor relies on cell phone wireless technology to send secure, password protected tank level information to the Forane® customer service group. The customer can also access this information online via a secured web site. Top
