Processability

To evaluate how Transcend^® additive technology affects processing and physical/mechanical properties of HFC-134a foam, we conducted a series of experiments with different levels in the foam formulations. The amount of water is kept constant at 40 mole%, while levels of Transcend^® additive change from 0, 20, 30, and 40 mole%. The total amount of HFC-134a/Transcend^® additive/water is kept constant at 0.276 mole, and the ISO index is 120.

The dispensing of foam mixture is increasingly smooth (with a creamy liquid rather than a violent froth) as the level of Transcend^® additive becomes higher. The surface of the free rise foam is also smoother.
