Arkema manufactures epoxides at its Blooming Prairie, MN facility.  The plant has been producing epoxides at this location since Viking Chemical opened its doors there in 1970. The plant was then purchased in 1987 by M&T Chemicals, which merged in 1990 with Pennwalt Corporation and Atochem Inc. to become Atochem North America, Inc. 

Since then, the name has changed a few times (Elf Atochem North America, Atofina Chemicals Inc.) before being spun off from its parent company Total to becoming the independently owned company Arkema Inc. that is known today.
