Do you have shelf life data for your products?

No. We do not have shelf life data. Typically, we recommend testing a product for specifications 6 months after its manufacturing date.

Are your products kosher?

No animal products are used to manufacture any of our chemicals.

Amines

What is an amine?

Amines can be regarded as derivatives of ammonia in which one or more hydrogen atoms have been replaced by hydrocarbon radicals or as derivatives of hydrocarbons in which a hydrogen has been substituted by an amino group. Amines are structurally classified as primary (RNH2), secondary (R2NH) or tertiary (R3N).

How are amines manufactured?

Arkema amines are manufactured by reacting alcohols with ammonia. Alkyl alknolamines are made by an amine/ethylene oxide reaction.

How are amines shipped?

Arkema sells amines in drums, tank trucks, and railcars.

What are some amine applications for paints and coatings?

A. Amines are used to control viscosity and prevent livering in paints.
B. To neutralize free acidity in water soluble coatings.
c. In an acid catalyzed coating to block the catalyst and increase the pot life of the mixture.
