Vultac® Phenol Sulfide: Sulfur Donor and Vulcanizing Agent

Since 1941, Arkema has been manufacturing the Vultac® line of phenolic, resin-type sulfur donors for the tire industry and a wide variety of other markets. Arkema's line of Vultac® includes: Vultac® 2, 3, 5 TB7, TB710.

Vultac® are low molecular weight alkyl phenol disulfide oligomers that contain between 20-32% sulfur. Some of their advantages include:

  • The monosulfide bridges formed by Vultac® are more stable and have excellent resistance to heat and aging when compared with typical polysulfide bridges
  • Phenolic structure can act as an antioxidant
  • High elastomer solubility
  • Nitrosamine free

Vultac® have been used in the tire industry since the introduction of synthetic rubber. In North America, HARWICK STANDARD DISTRIBUTION CORPORATION  is Arkema's exclusive distributor of these products. Please contact Harwick Standard Distribution for all orders, inquiries, technical requests and samples for our full range of Vultac products.
